Hey, that's pretty funny. Every single firefighter in the country of England is on strike. And to make it worse, the volunteers have been ordered to use "state-of-the-art" fire engines from 1950 that were designed to put out fires in the event of a nuclear strike from Russia.
State of the art, my ass.
Their design, however, lacked one thing vital to quick response: Speed. Anything over 50 mph was seen as unsafe, as the vehicle might topple on curves. Reports during the first day of last week's strike noted that an average speed for the Goddesses was around 30 mph.
"For basic firefighting they're alright," retired fireman Ronald Murray told the BBC, "but if my house was on fire, I'd want a real fire engine."
Translation: These things couldn't even put out a fucking match if they don't flip on the way over there. But guess what, motherfuckers? You think I'm in danger? I'm a retired fireman, I fucking own an engine. All you fuckers laughed when I drive it to the supermarket, the car wash, drive-in movies, but who's laughing now!?? You catch fire, you better damn well believe I'm gonna go out on my lawn, point, and laugh my fucking ass off while you roll around in intense, flaming agony until I get my bloody raise I deserve.
